The CANVAS project consortium is pleased to invite you to the Final Conference of the CANVAS Project, a scientific event dedicated to presenting the key outcomes of the project and discussing current challenges in immunotherapeutic approaches for cancer. The conference will bring together researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders engaged in advancing innovative cancer therapies and translational oncology. Through keynote lectures, thematic scientific sessions, and a poster session for early-stage researchers, the event will foster interdisciplinary dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the development of future collaborations.
The conference will take place at the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Science, University of Gdańsk in Gdańsk, Poland, at Kładki 24 Street, providing an inspiring setting for scientific discussion and networking within the cancer research community.
The event will be officially opened by the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, prof. Piotr Stepnowski.
The scientific programme will cover four main thematic areas: Translational Medicine, Cancer Biology, Cancer Models, Cancer Immunology and Open Science.
The Translational Medicine session will feature contributions from prof. Bart de Roep (Leiden University Medical Centre), prof. Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska (ICCVS), and prof. Beata Biesaga (Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski University in Krakow).
In the Cancer Biology session, confirmed speakers include prof. Lina Ghibelli (University of Rome Tor Vergata) and prof. Carla Montesano (University of Rome Tor Vergata), among other invited experts.
The Cancer Models session will include presentations by Martyna Siewiera (ICCVS), dr Flora Clement (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), dr Christophe Battail (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission), as well as dr Marcin Krzykawski (Real Research).
The Open Science session will highlight perspectives from UNITOV invited speakers, alongside active engagement of participants, emphasizing transparency, data sharing, and collaborative research approaches.
A dedicated Poster Session will provide a platform for early-career scientists and PhD students to present ongoing research, share recent findings, and engage with international experts. We warmly invite participants to submit abstracts related to cancer biology and oncology, including immuno-oncology and related translational research.
Registration for the CANVAS Final Conference and abstract submission are now open.
We encourage all interested participants to secure their place and join us in Gdańsk for this project CANVAS event.
Participation is free of charge (including lunches and coffee breaks). However, participants are required to cover their own accommodation and travel expenses. Please note that separate funding rules apply to invited speakers.
Further information about the full programme and practical details will be provided soon.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gdańsk for this inspiring conference!
